CDI’s
community health program seeks to support and assist primary
health care providers and members of the community to improve
health conditions and reduce
their risks from infectious diseases
For curative
healthcare, CDI's field officers work with health service
providers to identify key health needs and develop solutions
for improving healthcare providers’
means of effectively addressing them. Continued logistic,
communications and administrative support is provided to government
and mission health centres. Also, regular in-service training
for healthcare providers is facilitated with domestic sources
and visiting specialists from partner organisations.
For preventive
healthcare, CDI’s field projects focus on addressing
practises and behaviours that contribute to poor health conditions.
Communities are therefore educated on serious health risks
and how they can be mitigated. CDI is focused on identifying
and prioritising the most critical health needs in the community
and
developing strategies to address them. These strategies result
in various field projects such as awareness of HIV/AIDs/STIs,
and control measures for reducing malaria and tuberculosis.
CDI also maintains a mobile field support team for carrying
out immunisations and outreach clinics amongst the targeted
communities. |
